Each year, the various perfume academies from different countries give awards to the best fragrances of the year. Looking at the prizes given by countries like Germany, England and Italy, we've concluded that this year's most lauded fragrance is Lola by Marc Jacobs.

Lola came out on top, with seven international awards, making it the new favorite of the world's top perfumists. In second place is Narciso Rodriguez Essence, while Tom Ford's Grey Vetiver and John Varvatos's Artisan were the top men's fragrances.

Lola's combination of pink pepper, fuschia peony, vanilla and geranium makes it a real winner, while Vetiver's warm humid citrus notes make it stand out as the top scent for men.
