Suzanne Williams is a local artist inspired by her many years living in Colorado. Her work balances both realistic and abstract design elements in a shadow box style, mixing silver and 18K or 22K gold with glass and gemstones. "I think of my shadow boxes as being small visual vacations, transporting people to a different place momentarily," says the artist. Many of her pieces feature miniature scenes of natural or urban settings. "I've found they're catalysts for social interaction; people find themselves in conversations because of a piece of mine that they're wearing."
