The ad campaign starring Marc Jacobs himself has been seen around the world, but behind the spectacular advert lies the designer's first men's perfume. It comes eight years after Marc first started working with perfumist Ann Gottlieb.
The Bang scent is based on Marc Jacobs' taste. The New York designer wanted it to reflect his own personal taste in fragrances. That's why it's spicy, with peppery notes.
The scent features pink, black and white pepper, wood, elemi, resin, vetiver and patchouli. If you know your perfumes, you'll sniff out some similarities between Bang and the Comme Des Garçons scents.
Floral notes combine with the wood to bring character to the scent, which comes in a fabulous bottle created by Harry Allen. This is definitely one of today's top men's fragrances.

Salvador Dali launch a new fragra for youngins and young-spirited women alike in April of 2010 called Little Kiss Me....
The perfume is meant to evoke the sheer joy of living in the summer, the carefree spirit that accompanies the season and celebrates colors as is evident from the art on the flacon created by young designer Mikael Carriau who already signed the bottle of Little Kiss.
The pout-y mouths floating in air are meant to embody flower-mouths in a Dali-esque summer garden. The inspiration wants to be festive. Young, as well, perfumer Céline Ellena of Charabot composed the juice, a floral, fruity and musky vibrato of notes - I think I got a little carried away here by anticipated summer bliss. She said,
Sustained notes are: a spicy, pink and nonchalant peony; a blatantly femine magnolia; mysterious, exotic and sun-kissed passion flower.
Lingering notes: luxuriant and sophisticated iris powder; precious light woody scents; silky musks.

"In LITTLE KISS ME, I adopted a joyful, lively and lighthearted signature to express the playful happiness that infects all women in summertime, tickling and titillating our senses in a deliciously mild effervescence." (Not my translation - French original after the jump)...
"Pour LITTLE KISS ME, j'ai souhaité exprimer, en choisissant pour ce parfum une écriture joyeuse, vive et légère, le bonheur espiègle que toutes les femmes éprouvent lorsque les beaux jours sont installés et chatouillent les sens en un sentiment diffus de douceur et d'effervescence."Opening notes are: dewy nymphea (see also Guerlain Flora Nymphea this spring 2010), transparent, green and tender bamboo, mischievous, lighthearted grains of paradise (Brazilian floral pepper).
Sustained notes are: a spicy, pink and nonchalant peony; a blatantly femine magnolia; mysterious, exotic and sun-kissed passion flower.

The Black Eyed Peas singer is releasing her debut fragrance Outspoken - developed with cosmetic firm Avon - in September and said the name was of prime importance as it had to reflect her attitude as well as being original.
Fergie - real name Stacey Ferguson - told WWD: "I didn't want to call it Duchess, or Glamorous, or Fergalicious, or something that I've already done.
"strong and empowering but not cutesy""I didn't want it to be so cutesy. I wanted it to be strong and empowering, something that represents me as a whole woman, a fearless woman.
"From my music to my wardrobe, my style is all about speaking up and making a statement. That's why my first-ever fragrance exudes independence. Outspoken definitely turns heads, but it also lets your true personality shine through."
The scent mixes notes of starfruit, tuberose, jasmine, and passion flower with base notes like black leather and smoky vetiver, and has already won over one person, Fergie's husband, actor Josh Duhamel.
He said: "I didn't like what she was wearing before, but I never told her. But this is good. It just works with my nose, I think."
Outspoken by Fergie will be launched in September in the US and sell at $28 a bottle.
