The ad campaign starring Marc Jacobs himself has been seen around the world, but behind the spectacular advert lies the designer's first men's perfume. It comes eight years after Marc first started working with perfumist Ann Gottlieb.

The Bang scent is based on Marc Jacobs' taste. The New York designer wanted it to reflect his own personal taste in fragrances. That's why it's spicy, with peppery notes.

The scent features pink, black and white pepper, wood, elemi, resin, vetiver and patchouli. If you know your perfumes, you'll sniff out some similarities between Bang and the Comme Des Garçons scents.

Floral notes combine with the wood to bring character to the scent, which comes in a fabulous bottle created by Harry Allen. This is definitely one of today's top men's fragrances.
